For the analysis of real media artefacts from the Indie genre, I decided to choose 3 different artists so I could gain a greater understanding of the entire genre as well as the sub-genre of 'Indie-folk'. My first artist, Halsey, is considered to be a part of the Indie genre, yet is under the smaller and more niche section of 'Electro-Indie'. This means that her music is very different from my chosen artist, Dermot Kennedy, and so will be a good comparison to analyse. My 2nd artist is Troye Sivan

By analysing these three real media products I have improved by understanding for the conventions in digipaks and what makes them successful. I have also realised the importance of aiming your products towards your target audience through the design of your products and so will keep this in mind throughout the planning and construction stages of my coursework.
